I ordered from The Highlander Public House tonight and honestly I feel like I just survived a deleted episode of Kitchen Nightmares.
Let’s start with the fish & chips. Calling this “crispy battered fish” would be considered fiction in most countries. The batter was so soggy I genuinely checked to see if DoorDash had delivered it underwater. It had the texture of a wet paper towel wrapped around a fish that had completely given up on life. I’ve had crispier food at the bottom of a lake.
Next up: the mozzarella logs. And yes, LOGS is the correct word here. These things weren’t mozzarella sticks. These were mozzarella tree trunks. One of them looked like it could bench press me. I don’t know who in the kitchen said, “Let’s make these the size of a Louisville Slugger,” but congratulations, you’ve created the first mozzarella stick that requires a safe word. I took one bite and felt like I was auditioning for a Discovery Channel special called Surviving the Giant Cheese Anaconda.
The tuna tostada was… fine. Completely average. The culinary equivalent of a guy named Steve. Nothing offensive, nothing memorable. Just sitting there existing. 5/10.
And finally, the banana pudding. Listen, maybe I’m spoiled because my mom makes elite banana pudding, but this tasted like someone opened a can labeled “Banana Adjacent Dessert Product” and just hoped for the best. The wafers were fighting for their lives. The pudding itself tasted like nostalgia mixed with drywall paste. 2/10.
Overall, this meal felt less like dinner and more like a prank from a friend who secretly hates me. The only thing delivered hot tonight was disappointment.

chicken was under cooked so I couldn't eat it. burgers were fine but they are burgers hard to mess up. has the chicken many times before and it was great.

food is always good and always arrives hot. the chicken fried chicken is a huge portion. I will definitely order again.
