• 1/3/25I LOVE the food and service at Yamato!! Seriously cannot recommend this place enough. I love sushi and when I moved to the area, I was searching for my "go to" place, and Yamato is it! The food is ALWAYS good and the orders are ALWAYS right (I have been ordering for over two years now). I especially love the spicy crab rolls, volcano rolls, soba noodles, udon soup, hibachi, and ALL the appetizers! I've tried so many things and it's all delicious, so you really can't go wrong with ordering and trying something new. I even picked up my order once and they recognized my name as someone who orders often through DoorDash. Tonight I received my order with a very thoughtful "Happy New Year!!!" written on one of the boxes. Yamato honestly deserves more than five stars!! They're the BEST!

• 10/20/25I hadn't tried here yet, but they are definitely my new favorite sushi place!! 4. Gyoza (Japanese Dumpling)(6 pcs) were very crisp & light, & the 40. Sushi Regular entree was wonderful! They even accommodated a special request. Will definitely orde again!

• 11/8/25My go-to to used to be Wasabi. . . .now I'm a huge fan here!! It's very rare you can make a special request for 41. Sushi Deluxe but they have always accommodated a piece requested. Simply fabulous!!

• 10/2/25Very fresh, everything was still hot when it arrived. The flavor was excellent. Some of the best general C1. General Tso's Chicken in town. And the portion size was great for one person. I'll be ordering again!

• 2/11/24This is best restaurant in Lynchburg, hands down. So underrated. Not only is the owner the nicest person I have ever met, but the food is always so consistently delicious. I highly recommend the H10. Filet Mignon Steak it's so tender and cooked perfectly. 10/10 every single time.
