Really disappointing portions, especially given the prices. Six small pieces of chicken cost almost $21, while another dish with five pieces of chicken plus an entire beef koobideh was $24. How does that pricing make sense?
The ghormeh sabzi was around $20 and also had very little meat. Across the meal, it felt like they were noticeably stingy with the protein while charging premium prices.
What made it especially disappointing is the name Maman Joon. A “Maman Joon” should evoke warmth, generosity, and Persian hospitality — the kind of meal where you’re worried you’ve been given too much food, not counting the pieces of meat on your plate."

"Prices may seem high but it's worth every penny. Before we even get to the food itself, the packaging and presentation are head an shoulders above any other delivered food I have ever gotten. The food is divine. The Side of Bagheli Polo was generously portioned, and the Koobideh Kabob with Rice Entrée was one the best kubideh kebabs I've had. Definitely give this place a try."

"We ordered the lamb shank and the chenjej kabob with salads. The typical salad was great but the Shirazi salad was just chopped tomatoes and cucumber with no seasoning, no olive oil. The lamb shank was very small and mostly fat, again no seasoning. Sadly, the Chenjeh kabob was so overcooked and dry with no seasoning, I don't think even salt. It came in a big container with 8 small scattered pieces of meat- looked a bit sad. We had eaten at Alborz in probably 2013 and enjoyed it, not so much now. We are fans of Persian food. I don't know what went wrong tonight but would never order again, unfortunately."
