The restaurant 161 Bar & Grill is family run business. We are 2 blocks from Yankee Stadium on 161st Street between Walton and Gerard Avenues, in the center of the Bronx.

The food was cooked to perfection. Oxtails were excellent with the yellow rice. So much so I forgot to add the beans...And the calamari was crisp with just the right amount of seasoning. Great job cook(s). I'll be ordering again in the future.

First time ordering from here and everything was mind-blowing DELICIOUS! The chicken and the rice were packed into the containers, there was so much food. I definitely got my money's worth. This is my new go-to restaurant.

Although its tasty, the Queso Frito Empanizado was as if its already been out for a while, not like it was just freshly prepared. The Sancocho was mostly juice/broth. For a size large I got more juice than anything else. Some more yuca, plantain and potatoes would've been nice if I couldn't have more meat. Other than that it was good.

ln my opinion, this restaurant is over priced. I spent almost $40 for a Sancocho,1/2Lb. Pernil and a small juice. My Sancocho was mostly broth , my pernil was in some sauce/gravy ive never seen before and the juice was mostly ice. They didnt even include any utensil or even one napkin. Never ordering from here again.

The soup flavor was good but the meat was really red. The meat was sketchy. The soup was not thick, as Sancocho should be.
