In 1946, Detroit-Style Pizza was born at Buddy's Rendezvous Pizzeria on Six Mile and Conant Street on Detroit's eastside by an Italian immigrant named Gus Guerra. What makes a pizza Detroit-style? The same things that made Detroit - a little ingenuity, some stubborn spirit, and a lot of heart. It sparked an idea 75 years ago to take a steel auto pan and create a one-of-a-kind square pie that made Buddy's the originators of Detroit-style pizza. We here at Volare have brought Detroit to Norman, Oklahoma!
Absolutely no tenders like Volare's! Fun Fact: Our biggest fan's favorite usually entails a side of honey and a side of buffalo sauce as dipping sauce for both tenders and fries. First dip in honey, second buffalo and then enjoy!
