• 8/2/26The saj wrap is delicious every time. My partner really enjoys the shwarma bowl. Getting the appetizer plate is always amazing bc the portion of hummus, garlic sauce and baba ghanoush lasts us all week to add to meals or have as snack due to its size and freshness. The pita is house made and fresh and delish. Been a fan of Petra since my first order in summer of 2024 and I will keep ordering because they never disappoint

• 1/3/23It was just OK. For what we payed I was expecting some really good shwarma, but it was, dare I say, kind of bland. And that's coming from me - a pasty Wisconsin born and bred white girl. The Arabic White Cheese bread was like lunchable pizza crust with cheese on it. It was just OK all around. Best shwarma ive ever had remains on e ponce de Leon in Atlanta. But the garlic sauce was sooooooo good

• 18/8/23Overall disappointed and mainly by one dish. The Mixed Appetizer plate comes with Baba Ghanouj, Hummus, muthawama and ONE small piece of pita. Definitely not enough to dip into all the items. The muthawama was completely disgusting. It's supposed to be like a puréed garlic and potato mixture (or if it's Toum, they should call it toum, then it should just be garlic, lemon, oil and salt). This tasted like garlic puréed in mayonnaise and it was absolutely disgusting. Definitely no potato and for someone who hates mayonnaise (the mouthfeel and the slightly sweet of it), I couldn't eat it.
I understand that pureeing lemon, oil and garlic is going to emulsify but this flat out tasted like they added an egg and sugar or just mixed it with mayo.
The Baba Ghanouj was the only thing pretty good. But had a tiny piece of pita. For $15 they could throw in an extra pita. Hummus & lentil soup was decent. Stuffed falafel was good but would've been nice with a side of tahini. Overall, way too expensive for what you get.

• 24/9/23Petra is fantastic. They have limited hours, but get food from here if you can.
The Zinger is AWESOME. Whoever invented that did the world a favor. The tabbouleh is the best I've had in Madison. They use a lot of veggies instead of mostly bulgar so it tastes very fresh and light. The baklava is great, and the Turkish coffee I had when I went to the restaurant itself was dark and bitter like it should be, and came in the tiniest, cutest tea cup I've ever seen.
This also might sound like an odd thing to call out, but Petra's fries are really good. Better than the fries I've had at any burger joint in town. Definitely recommend ordering from here. I just wish they were open longer hours.

• 26/8/23Everything ordered, Halloumi , Arabic White Cheese Saj, 6 piece Falafel and Lentil Soup were exceptional and enough for two meals. Although not ordered this time Petra's tabouli is the best in the area!
