• 9/1/25As a Punjabi living in San Francisco who grew up eating home cooked meals that consisted of these daals and kulcha, I have always been slightly homesick to never be able to find anything similar to the food back home. Apna Chulha is the first place in SF that has exceeded my expectations in terms of Punjabi food that gives you that home cooked feeling that many restaurants fail to protect. Food was insanely good, and also super spicy (Pro tip: 9/11 is SPICY spicy)! I would highly recommend this spot to anyone and everyone.

• 28/12/24The flavors are good, but it's wildly overpriced for the small amount of food. Chicken Coconut Curry is $18 but included only 6 bit-sized pieces of chicken. the Navratan Korma is nearly all gravy.

• 21/4/26Food was okay, Vegetable Samosa 10/10 super good, Saag Panner definitely a acquired taste personally it taste like paste, salmon was good not dry but needed more sauce 7/10 could be better.

• 5/9/25The only reason for 3 stars this time is because of 2 dishes not done right. The Veg Biryani had nothing else but a whole bunch of Carrots and Zucchini and Raita was so much watered down that when I added it to the biryani only the shredded carrots stayed up. Finally the Hydrabi Vegetable I have no clue what that was. The only thing that kept coming up was the small slices of pineapple. I had to throw away all of it. Sadly this time very disappointed. I wanted to try different dishes but do not recommend the ones above. Panner Makhani was very good and delicious. Please be warned their spicy is VERY VERY SPICY.

• 18/12/24I feel bad leaving such a low review for a new business, but it was just not good. (aside from the Panner Makhani and Dal.) Hydrabi Vegetable is literally dried apricots, potato cubes and dried onions. Fish Pakora was soggy and fishy. Will try again with different dishes down the road. Many better Indian options in the Mission.
