I celebrated my birthday at Aaktun. We enjoyed the Strawberry Lemonade, Horchata Latte, Tropical Shrimp and Grits, OG Burger, and The Little Bull French Toast. Reading the menu can be a little intimidating if you are not familiar with the flavors or items. I was very hesitant about the Shrimp and Grits after reading the ingredients on their website, but it tasted amazing! Also, when I saw the pictures on the site, I almost did not try this restaurant. Luckily, my initial impression was from a food review on Instagram. They made the French toast look amazing, but on the website it looked nothing like the review. I for sure eat with my eyes first. Definitely try this restaurant. Excellent vibes. Nice staff. Great food!

The salmon dish, chicken skewers and Brussels were EXCELLENT! Very flavorful! Perfectly cooked salmon (medium) the sauce has coconut with light curry. The pickled peppers, onion and pineapple was a great ZING! Huge shrimp and calamari in the salmon dish! You will not be disappointed. Healthy portions, fresh and very well packaged!

We love this place and having it in the heart of Clayton is a huge plus. The staff are always friendly, the coffee is delicious (try the iced horchata latte with oat milk!), and the dishes are flavorful and unique. My go to is the Shrimp and Grits- so delicious and the shrimp are always cooked perfectly. My husband has tried the Lomo Saltado, OG Burger, and tempura fish tacos and has loved all of them. I also love that they do take-out so if you want to just run in grab a coffee it's easy to do so. It's such a gem!

Food was delicious, hot, and packaged well... only surprise was that the rice was not a white rice as expected/ pictured. It did have a nice flavor so I wasn't too upset, but wish I had an option to choose which one I wanted if they were changing a core component of the dish.
