Al’s New York Cafe exceeded my expectations! We ordered the kids’ spaghetti with meat sauce and mushrooms along with a Caesar salad topped with cucumbers, tomatoes, and mushrooms. Everything arrived fresh, flavorful, and well packaged.
The portion sizes were incredible—especially the kids’ pasta! It was packed with spaghetti, hearty meat sauce, and mushrooms, and honestly could have easily fed two kids. The Caesar salad was crisp, fresh, and generously loaded with cucumbers, tomatoes, mushrooms, crunchy croutons, and Parmesan cheese.
It’s refreshing to find a restaurant that doesn’t skimp on portions while still delivering great quality. Excellent value for the price, and we’ll definitely be ordering from Al’s New York Cafe again!

Pizza is always fresh, hot, & cooked to perfection! The grilled chicken salad is beautiful: tons of veggies, lots of chicken, and if you mix ranch & vinaigrette, it's perfection in a takeout container (but you need to toss it properly in a salad bowl, obvs.)!

We love Al's! We usually get pizza, which is always delicious, but this time we ordered sandwiches, the cold Italian sub and the grilled eggplant sandwich. The sandwiches were very generous portions. We couldn't even finish one half of a sandwich each! The grilled eggplant sandwich was nice and hot upon delivery. We are not sure where Al's sources the bread for the sandwiches, but it is delicious and fresh! Cold Italian SubGrilled Eggplant

I've been eating at Al’s New York Cafe 20+ years now. The food is just as good today as it was when I first started eating there. In my opinion, the best pizza I've had in California. I'm originally from New Jersey where we take our pizza seriously and Al's New York Cafe is as good as it gets. My other favorite besides his pizza's is the chicken parmigiana. Love the place!!

This crust is just about perfect, thin, crisp bottom and guey top. Sauce to crust ratio was perfect; I prefer a little sweet in the sauce not my preference does not count. The only issue I had was the ratio of cheese to the other ingredients, too much cheese. However, what I plan on doing is visiting this restaurant and asking for 3/4 cheese, 1/2 cheese, etc. I believe that once I know how much cheese to say I want, this place will truly be a top 5 candidate for best west coast, hell, best NYC pizza period.
Sorry Al's, I'm not being a jerk. I've traveled 40 states and 10 countries in Europe on my pizza quest. I'm actually giving you a HUGE compliment! Love you all!
