I think this might be the second or third time I've felt compelled to leave a DoorDash review after thousands of orders.
I know you, my fine reader, are simply trying to decide where to eat. So I'll keep this short.
A month-ish ago, I ran into this restaurant while I was out running errands. I went inside to eat. I was decently impressed—good mix of Americanized Chinese food and semi-authentic Sichuan dishes.
I order the three pepper beef and soup dumplings. Both very good, definitely above average.
Weeks later, I order it on DoorDash. Again tonight. The photo speaks for itself. The last two times, the dish has been 75% onions. LITERALLY. The actual protein you order is less than 15% of the dish. I'm not exaggerating.
It's really disappointing how different the DoorDash experience was, almost like they're taking advantage of the fact that a customer cannot verbally complain in-person when they order online.
It's already terrible that they fill the entire dish with just onions, they don't even balance it with actual vegetables. The beef is a soggy light brown color, no sear or actual cook on the beef. Almost like it was boiled than grilled on a wok.
The actual dining experience in the restaurant was nothing like this. They actually put effort into the food.
And last but not least, the authentic Sichuan dish three pepper dish's signature ingredient is is Pao Jiao (泡椒) — Sichuan Pickled Chili Peppers that have a distinctly tangy and slightly sour flavor that elevates the dish. There's barely any, so it tastes nothing like the dish it's supposed to. It's literally just onions with a sprinkle of soggy beef with no sear.

A lot of chewy weird looking, old tasting beef and chicken in the house Fried Rice. Also I'm use to some kind of vegetable in the fried rice, it was just meat, little pieces of egg and that is it. Would not order again.

Ordered the General Tsos Tofu and Fried Mushroom with a Coke Zero and opted to receive utensils with condiments. Didn't receive the utensils/condiments and didn't get the Coke Zero. Fairly disappointing. But the General Tsos Tofu was good as usual and the side rice was cooked well, as usual. The Fried Mushroom was a new try for me. Very distinct flavor on the mushroom, not sure I'd eat it by itself. Tasted better mixed in with the tofu.

I've ordered the General Tsos Tofu several times from this place and it's typically been good. This time the sauce was incredibly sour. The Sweet Ice tea I ordered never came. And they didn't include any utensils, napkins, etc. Really disappointing experience.
