Wanted to give a 5 stars but was charged $6 for a single piece of Fried cheese so that was definitely overpriced however the Passion Fruit Shake was absolutely delicious and the portions and taste of both the Breaded chickenFried Pork Chunk (Masa De Puerco) were great. Would order again but definitely skip on getting the fried cheese.

The avocado is rotted and it was paced on a tiny piece of chicken. Beans taste like sugar fried cheese is so thin and over cooked it's hard yet sitting on oil??? The rice is good for $35 this is a rip off.

The Old Clothes / Ropa Vieja was really good! Also a great value for the price. Yuca Frita is perfect. It doesn't get soggy or feel overly greedy and their salsa tártara is so good I even ask for extra. The staff is also so nice. Highly recommended this place!

I first visited the restaurant when they opened for bussines a few years back, this review is of my second experience but ordering through doordash. I placed an order as soon as they opened for the day and most of the food didn't taste good, the Chicken Steak (Pollo a La Plancha) was very dry, the Sweet Plantains / Maduros were not sweet, nor close to ripe. The congris didn't have much flavor, it did not taste like congris, I placed a side order of Fried cheese and only received a small dried up square for $6. Major rip off and major dissappointment, they definitely lack the good quality and attention to recipes that they had when they first opened the restaurant.

Cuban food in SLC?! Be still my heart. This local gem is so good and makes me feel like I'm back home in Miami with my Cuban family. Loveeee the Yuca Frita and the Sweet Plantains / Maduros are so sweet and good.
For a delicious Cuban treat, be sure to try a batido de mamey! Or a cafe con leche with a side of cuban buttered toast to dip in it!
The only downside of doordashing from Batista's is you wont get to experience this family-run restaurant's hospitality first hand! Make sure to stop in one day, theyre so kind.
