Disturbingly bad. Right away it didn't smell right, even before I took it out of the bag. The chicken fried rice, which I had paid extra for, tasted like it had been cooked in rancid oil, or perhaps in some kind of cleaning solution, like a metal cleaner, as it had a metallic taste to it. Drowning it in soy sauce didn't take the metallic taste away. The crab rangoon was not sweet and savory, which I expect, but sour and strange. The chicken fingers had tough meat that had me pulling unchewable chunks out of my mouth after taking a bite. The Chicken with Broccoli was the most edible of the lot, and even that was strange in a way I can't pinpoint. The container it comes in is TINY for $13. The egg rolls are overly sweet and also indescribably odd.
This place has great reviews, so I don't know if it's just a me problem. I did order late at night, about a half hour before closing, so maybe they had already started cleaning and didn't rinse the cookware thoroughly before preparing the food? I honestly don't know. I just know that I ate one and a half chicken fingers, half a crab rangoon, half of an egg roll (I tried to give it a chance, I really did!), and a couple bites of rice. The only thing I'm not going to throw away yet is the chicken with broccoli, which I'll try again tomorrow to assess with a fresh palate. Not worth the $60 I paid (including tip, taxes, and fees). Ultimately, this place is a HUGE "no" for me.

I think most of Dracut is so happy to see the original owner back. Last night meal AMAZING. Everything is cooked perfect and tastes great the Beef Teriyaki which is not at all my favorite were awesome melt in your mouth so much flavor. WELCOME BACK!

AMAZING!! I'm a picky eater and they followed instructions well and my food was hot and fresh, they give big portions! I will definitely be ordering again with family!

I'm so glad to see the original owners re-open China Maxim. Great old-school Chinese food featuring well-prepared fresh food that hits the spot!

Good Crab Rangoon, everything else was bland. The sweet and Sweet & Sour Chicken is just battered chicken with cherry colored sauce with fruit in it on the side.
