Eddie Merlot’s dishes are often about taking a good, but slightly average dish, and making it spectacular. It is a challenging undertaking often requiring bold choices.
On Nov 2, the star of the show was the carrot cake. A generous slice with perfect spice and texture and none of the extra chewy or crunchy bites that can make me wince. Cream cheese frosting that can hardly be described - it is cream cheese, my head knows that. My tastebuds know it’s sweet. The only explanation I have for its seemingly superior taste is that it complements the cake between four layers - although as we ordered doordash, it came through as eight and it took us two days to get through it - as perfect on the second evening as it was on the first.
The rest of the meal was between good and Very nice. The cake was a memory one can only hope to repeat one day.

A tasty meal. Steak was cooked well but a little under seasoned. Sides tasted great but have larger portions at other steakhouses at a lower price.

potstickers are fantastic!! Macaroni & cheese is very average. crabcakes are REALLY Salty and very mexcited. bbq shrimp is tasty. Caesar good but soggy. Hot Appetizer Platter Macaroni & CheeseCaesar Caesar

No bacon was put on the wedge salad. For $16+, I'd expect more attention to detail
