Going to preface this by saying I don't think I've ever written a negative review on here before, I've worked in the service industry and I understand how difficult it is. But this experience was bad enough I feel like it's worth warning others, especially tired parents with three kids who have been driving all day.
We stopped here for pickup after a long day of driving, because we figured a diner should be better than the McDonald's of the BKs around. The first server to greet me was polite, and that's where the good review for this place ends. I'm not expecting fancy treatment from a roadside waffle house competitor, but the crew here, excepting the first server, were rude and dismissive. But even that I'd be happy enough to ignore, like I said, I know how hard working as a server or cook is, I get it.
Unfortunately that brings us to the food. I ordered the huddleburger, my wife the philly cheesesteak, 2x chicken tender meals for the kids, and mozzarella sticks. The burger was fine, dry, uninteresting, but with ketchup and mayo on it, was serviceable, this is where the good food review ends. My wife's cheesesteak was bland, like impossibly bland, and there was no cheese to be found. Despite being starving, it was tossed about 2/3rds eaten. The kids chicken tenders were all overcooked, to the point that a 1 year old and 3 year old would not touch some chicken tenders. The fries for all of our meals were squishy, pale, unseasoned and just unpleasant.
It's a rare day when McDonald's can manage to be not only cheaper, but higher quality.
