• 6/11/24Im only here for a few more days and im trying to calculate how many more times ican eat Jims before I leave. Best burger. Best value. Holy cow. Literally. So much food. The burger is cooked perfectly and they were generous with toppings.

• 27/6/25Not only do I get more food, at a much cheaper price than other breakfast places but the food is well cooked. The pancake is thick and fluffy and melts in your mouth. They also took the time to offer me turkey sausage when I asked for no pork. My only complaint is, this is the second time I have ordered from this place and I have received normal potatoes instead of the corn beef hash. Btw they don't give you utensils or napkins with the order, you may have to ask for that. 10/10

Te Southwestern Plate is such an impressive portion of food. Jim's doesnt skimp on that. My main thing is the burger doesnt have a ton of the advertised flavors. It would be great with more bbq sauce and jalapeños. The cheesecake slice is massive and so dense and delicious. The Steve's whoopie pie is just prepackaged. No biggie.

• 11/6/25The carved turkey off th frame was both delicious and a good value for the money. I see so many complaints in the reviews that they didn't like how their eggs were cooked or the corned beef hash tasted as if it were out of a can. There is no way to cooks eggs to please everyone. Personally I like my eggs runny. That hash is not out of a can it is just trdadtionl hash not a new take on hash. Yes, the French toast is very good.
But in general this is classic American food that harkens back to the Grecian Yearning, Deli King and a restaurant on Brighton Ave owned and run by the same family that own Jim's
I am thrilled to still have one of these excellent old style American food establishments around. This is what I grew up thinking that delicious food was like. Yes, the main condiment is salt and it has plenty of it. I love my food that way. While I appreciate fusion food and all of the delicious ethnic restaurants of Allston, sometimes I want comfort food. Nobody beats Jim's Deli in that category. If it is not your style of food that is understandable. There are thousands of other restaurants in Boston to choose from. Just know that this into like the rest. Or at least there are fewer and fewer like it. I remember when Vaso greeted every customer by their name, with a smile, and asked you how your day was going. I will never forget her. She is the face that comes to mind when I think of a nice neighborhood dining experience.

• 9/11/25I have always been a big fan of this restaurant. I enjoy the activity and selection of food on their menu.
Having to switch delivery service I am very happy to provide a 5-star rating on the quality and portion received this morning with the Farmer Special breakfast. It was hot, cooked perfectly, and was ginormous!!!
Highly recommend this local hot spot for all the right reasons! Fantastic food and just great people!!!
