Welcome to Kaway Kitchen!
We're new to the neighborhood and excited to share the flavors of Filipino home cooking with our community. Kaway (kah-WHY) means "to wave" in Tagalog—a gesture of welcome. …
I moved to Sac from the Bay Area and I've had a hard time finding a solid filipino food until today. Kare Kare w/ Lechon Kawali was so creamy and flavorful and lots of meaty pork belly pieces in the Lechon Kawali w/ Veggies . 5/5

I think about my Filipina mother when I order here because it's a hardy serving of food, the rice comes with it (my mom would get mad when we went to restaurants where rice was not included at no extra cost), and they always include vegetables making this a proper meal, as I was taught. Very good Pork Adobo w/ Lumpia. The adobo is a little sweeter here but not too sweet. The pork was tender enough to be cut with a plastic spoon. It was very saucy which I love, however, the juice spills out of the container during delivery. Next time I will write in the notes to put my sauce on the rice instead. It's better that way anyway.

This is my second time ordering this month and the kare kare with lechon was just as tasty as the first time! The food here is consistent, and I appreciate how they package everything so that when you open the containers, there is no mess. I also got the chicken adobo with lumpia. The first time I got chicken lumpia, but this time it was veggie. Both were crunchy and flavorful!

The Turon is nice and simple and delicious, was a great way to end the meal. The lumpia were nice and crispy, the chicken adobo was tender and the vegetables it came with well cooked. Loved that they gave us two different rices. Very nice and authentic and homey and yummy. :)

A few weeks ago I had the Pork Adobo, this week I got Chicken Adobo - delicious and well packaged . I definitely prefer the Chicken more. The lumpia and turon are still hot and crunchy, as were my kids burgers and fries. I've been looking for Filipino food out here in Sac that's actually good and I'm hooked!
