Yeah not for me. There are better chinese restaurants in town. The eggplant dish was one note. Ok two notes: basil and sugar. It ate like a dessert. The asparagus dish was not impressive. Also one note, just a salty black bean sauce. The mixed vegetable dish had good flavor but they use a ton of cornstarch, just heads up, some people like that others are turned off by it.

the chicken fried rice I got was really bad. The rice was very old and crunchy, the chicken tasted like it was old as well, mostly gristle . Overall not a very fresh dish. I don't typically have high expectations for fried rice, but this was disappointing

I have ordered from Royal China for years and the veggie lettuce cups and veggie chow mein are longtime favorites. Unfortunately the pricing and portion sizes have become really frustrating. The veggie lettuce cups are actually more expensive than the chicken version, with an extra $2.50 charge, and each additional lettuce cup costs another $2.20.
For that price the portion should be generous, but the to-go box is often only about a quarter full. When I questioned it previously, I was told it was the correct portion size, which is hard to accept when I have ordered this same dish since they opened and know what it typically looks like.
Nearly $40 for two appetizers that barely fill the lettuce cups just is not reasonable. The food itself is good, which is why I keep ordering, but the portions simply do not match the price and it makes the experience feel disappointing.
