It is really rare that I am actually impressed by a restaurant but this was on a whole nother level. Indian food in southern California is absolutely trash. Literally watered down, soulless, flavorless. It's honestly sad. This is true north Indian treasure. Every spice, every speck of flavor that is supposed to be there shines bright like Surya. Both the Malai Kofta and the Saag Paneer are exceptional, my only gripe with the food itself is that the portions could be slightly larger. It took two entrees to really get me there, if you know what I mean. And the packaging is everything: the ONLY Indian restaurant I have tried in the ENTIRE state of California to use PAPER packaging and not the disgusting black plastic garbage dump that every single other place uses. I am thoroughly amazed. Well done. 10/10

The best food. Love their 69 (House Favorite)it is so flavorful and it was my first time trying it ( just to let you know it's a smaller portion cause it's a street dish). Also love their Chicken Kabab I order it every time. Also I love that they have Lentil Papadum!

Amazing! Excellent all around. Timely and tasty. The dal and the veg masala are especially delicious. The Raita was excellent this time and there was a generous portion of rice (other restaurants have been very stingy with rice lately - but not Saffron! ).

I always give 5 stars but they got my order wrong. Someone got my Butter Chicken, and I'm not sure what I got, but it's too spicy and it's not chicken! I'm not exactly sure what kind of meant it is but it's VERY tender I don't even need teeth to eat it. I will learn to live the way more than "mild" spice level.
Otherwise, the Chicken Saffron Soup is superb, as always. It's always fresh and delicious and there is always enough for leftovers!
I will call Saffron to find out what this other dish is. Next time, I'll order it... MILD! Hahaha!

Food was flavored decently, but I ordered "Hot" for the spice level and both my son and I agreed there was barely any heat. Also the price is too high for the portions you get. One butter chicken was barely enough for the two of us. SamosaButter ChickenBhuna
