The food at Checkmate Detroit is excellent!! The jerk wings are so tasty, and the lobster fried rice is the best! I highly recommend this restaurant!! 💜💜

The lamb chops were good in flavor but HEAVILY lacking in meat!! There were literally bones and nubs! The salmon bites were flavorless. Even had some bones in them still. The potato cakes were just ok. Nothing good nor truly bad to say about them. The salad was a salad. Minus missing the cucumbers as advertised.. For the price, absolutely NEVER again! Highly disappointed!

One of the places in the D where it's consistent from the food, drinks, service etc and always satisfied! Will continue to patronize. Fresh and portion are nice also FLAVORFUL

Food is flavorful, seasoned and has a lot of lobster, meat as well.As shrimp which I added to the order. food came hot and I have no complaints.I wrote order again!!

The Caesar dressing wasn't on the level I prefer which is house made. The lettuce mix was a bit soggy. I probably won't get it delivered. May give it another shot when dining in. The shrimp were bland also.
