I've always thought of Jackson Fillmore as the penultimate neighborhood spot. Cozy, friendly, with wonderful smells wafting from the kitchen. I was a bit skeptical about ordering delivery because of the high bar but craved the food. The Spaghetti alla Carbonara did not disappoint. Other restaurants make a good version of this dish; the Jackson Fillmore version is exemplary. It was not overwhelmingly rich as that dish can be. The flavors were delightful with just right proportions of pancetta and sauce that delivered. It's a generous serving that will be another dinner tomorrow. I almost didn't order dessert but I opted for the Fantasia di Chocolate. OMG what a fantastic choice. Jackson Fillmore delivered a fabulous dessert that walked up to "over the top" but stopped before getting there. It sounds rich and delicious and it is but not cloyingly so. Each bite seemed to melt in my mouth and shockingly I managed to only eat half. Will definitely order both again.

The food might have been decent, but the packaging completely ruined the experience. Everything arrived in soaked, flimsy cardboard containers that were leaking sauce everywhere — it made a mess on the table and was incredibly unappetizing. For a $34 meal, I expected at least basic care in how it’s delivered. The Snapper fra Diavolo was swimming in sauce that had already seeped through the box, and the pasta was squished and sticky. Honestly, this kind of packaging is unacceptable for the price point. Major disappointment.

$80 down the drain. Ordered the Zuppetta di Pesce with linguine, no linguine arrived. They didn't bother with a nice slice of grilled bread, or any bread/crouton whatsoever, which is pretty normal with a fish soup. Nothing to sop up the sauce. 6 clams, 8 mussels and 2 shrimp, some tiny pieces of fish. It arrived leaking; who puts soup in a cardboard box? I'm still so hungry. I'll have to order something else now since what arrived didn't fill a cavity. So disappointing I feel so ripped off. Zero attention to detail. I feel bad writing this but I feel worse about dinner. Doesn't anyone care anymore? I can't imagine owning a business and allowing this to happen. Seriously. I am very forgiving and worked in the restaurant business for 17 years, this is just a shame. Amost $40 for an entree that was more like an appetizer.
