I've been a loyal supporter of Sammy Lou's Home Cooking And BBQ for years, starting with their original location and continuing my patronage at their new spot. From the moment I first tasted their smoky, perfectly seasoned barbecue, I was hooked. The ribs are always tender, and the brisket is consistently juicy and flavorful. Their home-cooked sides, like the creamy mac and cheese and tangy coleslaw, complement the meats wonderfully.
The move to the new location hasn’t changed the quality of their food or their welcoming atmosphere. The staff remains friendly and attentive, making every visit a pleasure. It’s clear that Sammy Lou’s dedication to great food and customer service hasn’t wavered. We tried the ham today. My wife got the Small Ham Plate, and it turned out to be quite large. The ham was delicious. I got the ham sandwich, also delicious, but what really surprised me was the bun! It was fantastic. The baked beans were also great, as always. We order from Sammy Lou's at least once a week, and it's always a winner.

To be honest, years ago we weren't impressed with the food here. It made me avoid trying the new location. I know they've been here a while but the only reason I tried it was the "going out" promotion credit from DoorDash. I ordered the lunch special with white chicken and two sides. One of my sides was sweet potato fries, and the other was mac & cheese. Both of them were outstanding. I would go back just for the sweet potato fries alone! Unfortunately, the chicken was dry. But it did have a good flavor. And the barbecue sauce helped. Just a little disappointing, since they specialize in barbecue. Next time I'll try the brisket. I also want to say that I really like the interior of the restaurant. It is cozy and welcoming. The owner is very hands-on and takes care of customers as I observed while I was waiting for my order. I'm glad I finally tried it out again.

Ribs were tough and dry, brisket was all fat and ended up giving what I didn't throw away to my dog, Mac and cheese was grainy, turkey was tough, bbq sauce not only spilled everywhere, but tasted terrible. Very tangy. Didn't taste fresh despite quick delivery. Veggie plate portions were good, everything else felt skimpy. Unfortunately I wouldn't order again.

It's the first time I ordered from this restaurant and the food was excellent. The turkey was moist, the chopped beef was lean and delicious. The mashed potatoes were fresh and broccoli not mushy. And the cobbler was tasty also. Very pleased and will order again
