A labor shortage is affecting the restaurant and hotel industries around the country right now, and Seattle is no different. That's why we're happy to be sponsoring Uplift Northwest for our June Commu…
Be careful with the red peppers in vinegar, those look really good but if you bite into one the rest of your meal is ruined. The crispy rolls were good but kind of expensive for only 3 rolls. The tea was place in a bag and a third of it spilled by the time I got it. I would not order from here again.

Best pho in the city! Perfect noodles! Great flavor in broth. Excellent, tender brisket. I wish there was a little more rare beef.

I have been a regular customer for a long time, but after today's visit I don't plan on coming back.
The portions have become extremely disappointing, especially considering the prices. We paid nearly $60 for a bowl of Bun Bo Hue and a vermicelli dish, yet both meals contained very little meat and were filled mostly with vegetables.
The Bun Bo Hue was especially frustrating. It came with only two thin slices of pork, one meatball, very few noodles, and mostly broth and vegetables. The vermicelli dish was similarly lacking in protein.
I understand that food costs have increased, but charging premium prices while significantly reducing portions is not acceptable. As a longtime customer, this felt stingy and poor value for the money. Unfortunately, this experience has convinced me to take my business elsewhere.

My ongoing concern with Ba Bar revolves around the inconsistency of the food quality. While there are times when customer service may fall short, the primary issue lies with the food itself. Having frequented the Cap Hill Ba Bar location for over a decade and often ordering takeout, I have consistently encountered variations in the dishes. The broth, for instance, can range from richly flavorful to disappointingly bland. As someone with a background in the culinary industry, I strive to be understanding, yet I have found that whether ordering through DoorDash or directly from the restaurant, the portion sizes vary significantly. I even reached out to the manager to express my concerns about these inconsistencies, but the response I received was dismissive and lacked accountability. The manager's defensiveness did not address the issues I raised, which only reinforces my perception of the dining experience being inconsistent both in-house and through takeout. The Crispy Imperial Rolls were everything short of crispy. They tasted microwaved and they were cold when I received my order. The Pho Ga was bland, had brown greens and unflavored broth. I also received a very small portion of broth, less than 3/4 of a quart. Pictured below is not a quart container, just to be clear.

The broth appeared to be roughly 10% rendered fat, leaving a thick layer of oil on top rather than the rich, flavorful broth I was expecting. The meat portions were almost comical: I received about 1 ounce of raw beef and 1 ounce of brisket. And calling the brisket 1 ounce of “meat” is generous—it was probably 50% fat.
So after paying restaurant delivery prices for a bowl of pho, I essentially received a container of extremely fatty broth accompanied by about two ounces of beef, a significant portion of which was just fat.
Pho is not an expensive or complicated dish to portion generously. Skimping this aggressively on the ingredients while serving broth this greasy makes the price very difficult to justify.
I rarely feel compelled to leave a review over disappointing takeout, but the combination of poor quality, tiny portions, and the price made this one particularly frustrating. I would absolutely not order this again.
