the Layton Black Bear diner is the best out of all the ones I've ever gone too. I will only eat here.
Never go to the one in Orem Utah, it's dirty, the silverware still had food on it. The servings were so small and over cooked.

I ordered the New York Steak* full course homestyle dinner. It came with a side garden salad in which I requested Ranch dressing. The meal also comes with a very fresh medium size cornbread muffin. Oh my; is it good! 😁The ranch dressing was close to overflowing in the small cup and absolutely delicious 😋! The salad was very fresh tasting. Cucumber's, cherry tomatoes, shredded carrots, some shredded red cabbage, and green/iceberg lettuce leaves. The two sides that I requested in the meal, (you get a choice of several here), were the onion rings and Parmesan toast (which is two tasty toasted pieces). I requested my steak well done ( New York Steak* ) and it was 10 oz of juicy flavor and marbled to perfection! The onion rings are crisp, delicious, and glorious. I did receive a very good amount of Add Condiments which were ketchup packets (a good 8) and though I just requested two Add Utensils I received four individually sealed knife, fork, napkin, with salt and pepper packets. Excellent restaurant at reasonable prices. Very pleased and highly recommend!

I ordered the New New York Steak* full course homestyle dinner. I requested onion rings and garlic Parmesan toast as my sides. I'm being generous with four stars because it arrived with NO cornbread muffin and the side salad that is included only had cucumbers, shredded carrots, and the iceberg/green lettuce leaves. There was absolutely NO red cabbage or cherry tomatoes (the last two are the best part of the salad, IMO). Seems someone was being awfully lazy tonight in preparing the order. Really shocked me this restaurant forgot the cornbread muffin on a slow Tuesday night.
The New York Steak* could use some kind of seasoning but I do appreciate it was WELL DONE just like my last order. The onion rings were absolutely fantastic and big tonight. The garlic Parmesan toast slices were good as well. The restaurant did include two utensils (knife, fork, napkins, salt/pepper packet) and three ketchup packets per my request. Still really like and recommend this restaurant. Just hope they don't forget my cornbread muffin again (a member in the household was waiting for it and they're still pouting.. lol). A checklist with initials on the receipt would probably prevent such a thing like other restaurants do.

Overall my order was good but the chicken pot pies and onion ring were insulting due to the price and the actual size of meal . 5 onion rings and a pie similar to the cheap frozen ones. Taco salad was awesome. Packaged very well with no spills.

Black Bear Diner is my "go-to" for an easy, quick, hassle free takeout delivery for lunch. Chicken Avocado Club Sandwich is always stacked and the bread is never moist/damp as you can take off sauces here. The sandwich holds together very well and a good half is very filling. Onion rings didn't come with the usual Ranch sauce today but no biggie. Everything is very crisp and fresh 👍
