Second time ordering & everything is great & reasonably priced! First time ordering the Corn Butter Cheese (not much mayo but still good) & the a la Carte - Ebi Fry (5 pcs) (love panko breaded shrimp). Appreciated the cold Yuzu Sparkling soda was wrapped in another bag to keep it separate from the warm food.

Karaage Bento Miso Soup was good. Chicken is moist but could be more crunchy/crispy on the outside.
Large portion is given, with ample sides and protein.
Food feels freshly made, I would order from this store again but perhaps a different menu item next time.

Ordered 12 Beef Croquette for a Superbowl party, and they were a hit! I was so excited to be able to share one of my favorite Japanese snacks with my friends. It was a great combination of creamy mashed potato, meaty beef bites, and little veggie bits (including onion) to enhance the flavor. The crunch factor was great and it went so well with beer. 10/10 always recommend Demiya as a go-to spot for curry and croquettes

First time having Japanese curry. Sorry to say $60 later, this was a pass for me. I got the veggie Yasai Curry Rice and added corn & cheese. Contemplated chicken katsu but got two "croquettes" jnstead, one beef and one potato. Ugh. Croquettes are usually small and tasty. These were huge, the size of a very large burger patty, greasy and bland. It came with a container of a thick curry sauce that arrived ice cold. Like it came straight from the frig. One was half black likr it was burnt. Or was it supposed to look like that? The other only had a portion that was black. I wasn't sure since it was the first time I'd ever had Japanese croquettes. But they were so bland and greasy it was a chore to eat them. so I didn't. Even the cold sauce couldn't save them. The yasai curry was ok but seemed a little bland, like something was missing. Probably meat.
I also got an order of Agedashi Tofu which I've had many times at other places. Every cook makes this differently. The tofu cubes were well cooked , the exterior toasted brown. Made me wonder if the cook forgot to dip them in potato starch before frying them, since they were a little chewy, versus crisp and tender. They arrived sitting in a pool of d as dashi, which was very tasty. All the other times I've had this the tofu was served separately from the dashi, so you can dip it. The result was when you picked up the tofu cubes to eat them, the part that had been sitting in dashi looked gray. That was a little off-outing but I ignored it since the dashi was very tasty.
I ended up feeling very annoyed that I soent $60 for food that I wasn't enjoying, wishing I'd ordered a good sukiyaki or other Japanese food I'm familiar with, and put the yasai curry and rice in the frig for later or the next day. Maybe it'll be tastier after it sits overnight, or appeal to me more when I'm hungrier. I left the "croquettes" sitting out in the little bags they arrived in, and found them later half eaten, so at least one of my cats enjoyed them, probably Kenji, who is a bit of a piglet.
Not sure I'll order from them again. I might be tempted to get the agedashi tofu again, and something else from the menu, fefinitely not those croquettes. Or I may not, and chalk this up to an experience that was overall disappointing as well as expensive.

Niku Maki Cheese Curry Rice was great and the curry had a nice spice to it. the Ume Sparkling soda was good, but nearly 4 dollars for a small can of non alcoholic umeshu is way too expensive imo. Will order again but skip the drink.
