• 20/11/24Egg McMuffin® Hot Picante Salsa
The food was nicely prepared. Ideally, every McDonald's serves the same things as every other McDonald's. Consistency from store to store to store, across time. This was that. About perfect as McMuffins go. I've been fond of the Egg McMuffin since the first one I ever had. And almost the only way they could have made it better happened when they developed their Hot Picante Salsa , originally for a breakfast burrito; but I think it works just as well on the McMuffin. Technically, it's "hot"; there's a little cayenne in there; but very mild as hot sauces go. If a truly HOT sauce were a Ferrari, then this would be a Prius; but I like it on the McMuffin.

• 17/2/26The McCrispy™ sandwich was well put together, which I appreciated. The chicken was cooked well & they gave me extra pickles, as ordered. The Hamburger Happy Meal® was also well packed & good quality. The Diet Coke® & Sweet Iced Tea were flavorful & the OREO® McFlurry® hit the spot.

• 16/10/25I got the Double Quarter Pounder® with Cheese deluxe, with extra everything, and it was great! 😃 A bit messy, but messy sandwiches are usually the best ones! The medium French Fries were also really good; not overly greasy, crispy on the outside, and just the right amount of salt. This is what happens when the cooks follow the procedure. Except for the relatively recent "deluxe" option, a McBurger and fries made "by the book" tastes just exactly like the ones that were being made 50 or 60 years ago. For me, it's more than a meal, it's a time machine, and I'm a 16-year-old in a beat up $50 '63 Chevy, with my buds, and about 3 or 4 dollars in my pocket, chowing down in the Mickey D's parking lot, admiring the jacked-up '67 Goat with the Cragars and Glasspaks, rumbling by in a slow cruise.

• 7/5/25Mickey D's has gotten expensive. The Hash Browns are $3! And I think they're smaller than they used to be. Not 100% sure, though; it's been awhile since I had one. I forget how much I paid for a couple of Egg McMuffin® , but delivered, the 2 sandwiches and side were over $20. But everything's gone up.乁( •_• )ㄏ Food was good, though. I always get Hot Picante Salsa for my McMuffins. Perks 'em up.
Anyway, McDonald's remains reliably McDonald's. 50 years ago, I practically lived on it. I now eat McD's only occasionally; but when I do, I still know what I'm getting, and I appreciate it.

• 7/6/24It's been a long time since I had a McBurger. I usually prefer BK for the flame-broiled taste and the options ("Have it Your Way"). But evidently, there have been some changes made at Mickey's; yet the basics remain consistent.
I got the Quarter Pounder® with Cheese . It used to be that when when you ordered one, it came just one way. You got pretty specific amounts of mustard, ketchup, onions, and pickle. McDonald's designed it (and all their other offerings) that way for consistency, and it's been that way since the late 1950s. If you got McDonald's food in New York, L.A., or anywhere in between, it would be the same, no surprises. You knew exactly what you were paying for, and it made Mickey D's huge. However, you also had no choices. No add-ons, no substitutions, no subtractions, unless you wanted it plain.
So with this order, I was (pleasantly) surprised to find I could CUSTOMIZE my burger (chorus of angels singing, "Aaaaahh"!) I got lettuce and tomato on a "Quarter Cheese"! PLUS, I got EXTRA of all the standard condiments! Best McBurger ever. Still had that same signature McDonald's flavor (it's good that some things don't change), but more of it, along with the lettuce and tomato options for which I have waited decades.
Good job, McDonald's! 'Bout time.
As for the French Fries and Chocolate Shake, 100% consistent McDonald's. Exactly what I was expecting, and exactly what I wanted. I have no doubt that I'll be back again sometime.
(I gotta say, I still prefer the flame-broiled BK Whopper with that smoky "outdoor cooked" flavor; but my nearest BK is about 4 miles away; by the time Doordash gets it here, it's cold. My closest McD's is only 4 blocks away. So THIS time, they win.)
