Native Washingtonian and Anacostan, I absolutely love this place. For us children of the Diaspora, it's a little slice of home.
I'd recommend the Wakye and Vegan Kutumeri. Absolutely delicious!

Crab cake was substandard. No taste. Unable to discern if real Crab meat. Stringy, no lumps of meat, mainly a processed blenderized mess.
The shrimp were small and overcooked. Medium size at best. A thick pepper paste spread on them. Tough, hard to eat, and $1 per shrimp.definitely not worth it.
The Jollof rice was fair. Nice rice kernels, evenly coated a a color of once was a sauce. Edible, yet not enough flavor. No heat,

First timer and I'm not sure if I understood what I was getting. Now the food portions were more than enough but lack the seasoning I personally like. That was totally on me. This is not grandma macaroni and cheese but penne pasta and cheese sauce.
Whiting strips crunchy but that old bay like taste wasn't there so it was bland. Braised greens is not grandma's greens. Think more like. blanched. You can do that with Kale but not collards I feel. So no I wasn't thrilled with my food however I take full accountability for expecting something that is clearly not traditional southern or Maryland seafood style. Still give them a try because your taste buds may find it wonderful.
