The Takoyaki is delish, I love the creamy savory flavor of it! My go to place for a good bowl of rice or ramen. The staff are always nice when you go in, the portions are always generous. Excellent flavors on everything they have!

Amazing as always. One serving of the Hakata Modernwas enough to feed us both and it had great garlic flavor. The Chicken Karaage arrived still crunchy and delicious. Can't wait for our next bowl!

The udon bowl was massive, piping hot, and full of thick, chewy noodles; several chunks of tender imitation crab; a light, flavorful clear broth; and perfectly crunchy kelp. They even kept the scallion garnish off my order, just like I asked! I could have easily made two meals of the dish, but I'll admit I got greedy and ate it all in one extended sitting.
There were five massive takoyaki drizzled with a delightful combination of mayo - not too much so as to be heavy - and a tangy brown sauce. The octopus chunks inside the lightly crisp, wonderfully smooth and slightly gooey balls of dough were well done, and overall, they were a culinary delight to eat.
If that wasn't enough, they even dropped my stuff off early! (My workplace is pretty close, but still!) With such a feast and service (did I mention they supplied plenty of napkins and utensils?) I can only say that the best time to order ramen is whenever these guys are open.

I think this is the best ramen in Grand Rapids. But they insist on packaging the iceberg lettuce salad right in the same box as the hot rice and katsu. Worse yet they dress it. I have tried specifically asking for separate for delivery and doesn't happen. It's pretty gross by time of delivery. Katsu is good, rice is good, pile of slime next to them.

I've never had Takoyaki before so I don't know if it was made and taste exactly like traditional. What I can say is that the octopus is overcooked. Overall I thought the flavor was good I just can't get past the overcooked octopus. You get five balls of Takoyaki in the appetizer.
You also get five Steamed Gyoza in that appetizer. They are lovely and thin-skinned and appear to be handmade but there's too much cabbage and it's in too big of pieces. It overpowers all the other flavors which is a shame because I suspect they are quite lovely from what I can tell. The dipping sauce is not my favorite but it's also not my least favorite of Japanese style dipping sauces for gyoza.
I added a picture of the broth to show that you get more than you would get it most places usually get one of those little half containers filled up to the top of course but this is half again is full which is nice and makes good value for money for broth because sometimes it feels like they're stingy with it.
