Szechuan Express have been serving the neighborhood of Oakland in Pittsburgh since 1996. The best traditional Chinese dishes and noodle soups in town. We serve lunch prices all day long.
The chicken and broccoli was delicious. The broccoli wasn't over done and nice and crunchy. The flavor was on point. We also ordered the fried wontons. Definitely hit the spot. You get a lot of food for your money.

Food was fresh, and rich in flavor! Chicken wasn't dry, and also had the perfect amount of breading. Pork Fried Rice was phenomenal, and they absolutely do not skimp out on portion size. Highly Recommend!

Best in the city. I love how the sauce doesn't seem like an afterthought. Most places seem to just pour huge amounts and the flavor never seems incorporated into the vegetables or proteins 10/10 would come again

Generic Chinese. Cheaper than the other Szechuan places but not authentic Szechuan. Everything is swimming in the same brown soupy sauce. Taiwanese Basil Chicken (3 Cup) either they sent the wrong dish or this has no basil - tasted like watery General Tso. Kung Pao with Chicken was overcooked and mushy and lacking in flavor.

Szechuan Express has been my favorite Chinese restaurant in Pittsburgh since I started law school here in 2004. The Chicken Noodle Soup is such a versatile dish - for when it's cold out, when yoire feeling under the weather, or when you just want to curl up on the couch with a blanket and watch a movie. The Chicken with Broccoli has been my go-to entree since 2004. Amazing sauce, lots of chicken and fresh broccoli.
