JULY 5, 2026: Ordering again @ Taqueria Zarape (Seaside). I’ve placed orders many times and my favorite dish to order is Menudo🏆 {$15.25~ Grande}. I actually order and took a picture and it’s the picture featured on the menu 😋. *Note: Menudo is made WEEKENDS ONLY! if you order late they may run out….it has happened to me.
The menudo comes in a 24 oz plastic container that is filled all the way. They don’t use Hominy and/or bones in their menudo, what they do use is a lot of meat and HUGE pieces of tripe. They don’t skimp on any of that. In separate containers they give you diced onions 🧅, cilantro 🌿, oregano, and crushed dry chile peppers 🌶️ that you add to the menudo {and side of corn tortillas}. BEST MENUDO IN THE BAY🏆 and I’ve tried other restaurants in area and no one comes close to Taste, Quality, Freshness, of their Menudo. There’s a reason they’ll sell out because it so Delicious 😋😋😋😋😋. I also order small Spanish Rice {$4.68} , Super Nachos {$13.50} Al Pastor and two cans of 9-3-9-2-1 Drink of choice for Carmel residents. Placed order@ 9:07a.m., E.T.A.@9:32-9:46 a.m., Arrived @ 9:45 a.m. {Marina}, Dasher🦌: JOSE’ {Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and the most famous of the all Rudolph}.
I’ve tried their Jumbo Burrito {6/1}.along with single Enchilada and the Super Burrito {6/10} and they were Bland, No flavor, and falls apart when you pick it up to hold. Total Failure 🤮. So hoping the Super Nachos Don’t Disappoint?
Order arrived, Menudo was HOT 🤗😘, add all the ingredients after stirring it up, it tasted Fantastic 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟☝🏻🏆. Plenty amounts of meat and tripe {Big pieces}, Rice was fluffy and flavorful, I added little extra flavor by pouring the menudo juice on to the rice. Definitely on Weekends order Menudo from here over and over and over again. Super Nachos {Al pastor, Cheese, Sour cream, guacamole, and salsa} , thought I’d try this dish {Hopefully chips aren’t soaked and become flimsy?},The nachos; chips were nice and crunchy, crispy and not stale. Chips were covered in al pastor with sour cream, guacamole, salsa. It’s actually a meal by itself 😋. Definitely satisfying this whole order.
