At tourist traps like Pat's, they'll stare you down in dead silence—stumble over your words and you're banished to the back of the line. So say it fast and mean it.
That said, Pat's and Geno's are strictly for out-of-towners. This place serves what locals actually crave: authentic, no-frills cheesesteaks. Tucson isn't Philly (nothing is), but this spot does the hometown flavor serious justice.

So, I'm not from Philadelphia nor have I ever been there, so I'm not sure if these are "true" to the original recipe or whatever - quite frankly, I don't care, because this is the most amazing sandwich I've had on this side of town and I will be ordering here for lunch from now on. Fan-friggin'-tastic. (9" cheestesteak hoagie with sweet peppers, all the cheeses, mushrooms, and grilled onions 15/10)

The bread!Oh my Goodness! I think anyone from back East would appreciate! The cheesesteak had a bit of gristle. That's new. Still the best cheesesteak around. Italian hoagie is always a favorite! We are fans!

the 6" Chicken & Cheese is always good. good flavor and with onions and mushrooms make it amazing. Green Bean Fries are SO good with the wasabi ranch.2oz. Side of Broccoli Rabe is a little spicy

Fugguboutit! I love the 12" South Philly Cheesesteak! With the Tater Tots crunchy salted to perfection. A friend took me to Frankie's when I was 15. 20 years later I cannot find a better Philly!
