Boxcar Hippie is an East LA style burrito bar located right next door to Hot Chip Burger Bar. Burritos that don’t suck and local, fresh ingredients make these bomb.
Took a chance on this awesome place after a long day when I was in need of a really good Burritos & Bowls! It did not disappoint. Wow! Everything was packaged so nicely and the burrito was incredible. I got the citrus chicken with the beans and pico on the side. Delicious!

The food tastes great and I really like the Flour Tortilla Chips w/ Salsas & Guacamole (V) . You'll definitely have some leftover guac, pico, and salsa. A little spendy but My Dog Ate My Stash, Man is cheaper but you'll get a smaller burrito. Don't skip the guac on your Burritos & Bowls !!!

I've ordered three days in a roll, and I must say the food is absolutely delicious! The citrus chicken is top tier and I always have leftovers to save for later!

The fried chips in the Flour Tortilla Chips w/ Queso were heavy, thick and odd tasting. And the queso was topped with too much watery pico de gallo that was hard to scoop off. The Dog Ate My Stash burrito only had a few beans in it... I'm surprised this place is highly rated.

I got the burrito bowl with carnitas, it was okay. Lots of meat and rice but it was waaaaaaaay too salty. Also wish I had the option to choose black beans instead of the beans it came with. Would also have enjoyed a small side of chips cheaper that was less than $5 instead of their $8 option. Probably would not order again.
