The Pasta Amatruciana was amazing - who would think that tomatoes, olive oil and pancetta could be so good? I thought I was ordering a simple dish but the complexity was surprising. Unsurprisingly, my boyfriend ate the leftovers so now I need to order it again and hide it from him.

We arrived on time for our reservation and were seated promptly. A waiter took our order right away. Shortly afterward, we were asked to change tables. The host claimed it was for our comfort, but it was clear they wanted to combine our original table for a larger party. We moved without complaint.
Our appetizers arrived and were excellent. Then we waited. After about an hour, a waitress came by to offer us the dessert menu, and we told her our dinners had never been served. We had theater tickets and needed to leave, so we went to the host to let him know. Instead of apologizing, he asked our waiter what we had eaten and started preparing a check for the appetizers, double-checking whether we had ordered drinks.
We explained again that we’d been waiting an hour for dinner that never came. His response was that we hadn’t been served because we were “talking.” That excuse was absurd and insulting. He offered no apology, no acknowledgment that something had gone wrong, and didn’t offer to comp the appetizers despite the fact that our dinner out was effectively ruined.
If he had simply admitted they forgot our order, we would have understood since mistakes happen. But being lied to and treated dismissively guaranteed that we won’t be back.
