DeNicola's has been a solid presence for classic Italian food in Portland since the 1980's. You know what you are going to get: big portions, lots of cheese & sauce, and dishes that are exactly what you were expecting. Because I'm not Italian, I don't have an Italian grandmother, but if I did, I imagine she would serve some of these things for dinner and scold you for not finishing everything on your plate.
DeNicolas not what I call a six ravioli restaurant, of which you can find many in Portland, where you thought you ordered ravioli dinner and you get six raviolis drizzled very artistically with some type of sauce. You leave hungry and have to go to DeNicolas if you want to eat.
As for DoorDash, this time I ordered cannoli. How did I miss the cannoli before?!?! This is the closest I've found to east coast cannoli in Portland thus far.
The meals lend themselves to delivery; metal tins keep the dishes nice & hot. It's one of the few places I have DoorDashed more than once because they manage to get it to you hot & delicious and not ruined by the fact that it was delivered.

I have to say I was pleasantly pleased with the Lasagna- Meat. Most places over cook the cheese, but this was cooked to perfection.Same with the 1/2 Loaf Garlic Bread it was cooked to perfection. I will definitely order again. And the portions were perfect size.

Hooooly cow! First time ordering from here and I gotta say, that's some of the best Lasagna- Meat I think I've ever had! Also, it was much larger than I thought it would be, so I only ate about half of it! The Meatballs (2) were also fantastic! Definitely taste handmade, little kick, very good! Absolutely plan on ordering again!

Delivery was good, everything was packaged nicely and arrived hot. The Meatballs (2) were good and flavorful. The Fettuccine Alfredo was just okay. It was a smaller portion than what you would get dinning in which wasn't very clear in the app it was just a side order. Flavor was just okay. Garlic bread was good.

The portion sizes were great. The basil pesto Gnocchi is so good and had a good amount of sauce. The Lasagna Alla Napolitana w/ Meat is so cheesy and good. The sauce is a little acidic. The Spaghetti is light on sauce but the Lg Side Meat Sauce was more than enough for multiple dinners. The 1/2 Loaf Garlic Cheese Bread was a bit chewy but the flavor was great.
The Tiramisu was ok but really small.
Overall my order was very much so worth it and I will be back!
