My last review was a bit harsh, although the experiences were true. just wanted to say that this last time I ordered everything was excellent and back up the original high standards I expect from Sushi Cal. Their food has always been great, just inconsistent quantity/quality at times (nothing completely inedible mind you, just sometimes the food is better than other times). But this last time I ordered everything was perfect! They also did me a solid by fulfilling some of my requests when it comes to packaging some things seperate which I appreciate. I honestly haven't tried many other Japanese restaurants as of late because after I discovered Sushi Cal, I've never looked elsewhere. My roommates and I order from here at least once a week that's how good it is! So happy that they seem to be back to their high standards of quality, quantity and consistency!

California Rolls were great so was the Chopped Scallop Inari. Unfortunately the Gomae was given in a tiny bowl with literally 3 spoonfuls of spinach. Not worth $6.95 no matter how good it tastes. Maybe they messed up that specific order and thought it was a side. Still the other parts were good so still 5*.

I normally order from the downtown . First time from west broadwaylocation . What a huge mistake .
The chicken karage was half the quantity of what I normally get from downtown location at sameprice ! On top of that itveasreally bad and old meat. It was clear that it was refried again .
Salmon roll was ok . Not great not too bad but not as good as the downtown location !

sushi is not very delicious, to be honest very plain. I had high hopes paying over $100 for the large box and it was disappointing. Very average
Ive had many sushi with different restaurants before, and this is very average . Will not order again

Dont recommend the Prawn Tempura (Half). Works out to be $3 per tiny soggy shrimp.
