I love lasagna and often order from Carrabba's, however, it's very commercial, but decent in a pinch.
This Poppy's Baked Lasagna is the best I've had in years! It's delicate, yet robust at the same time. The portion size was enough for 2 dinners. The bread and oil was delicious too.

One of my favorite restaurants around here. Food and service are always "top shelf." It's pricey compared to other "regular" Italian restaurants (spaghetti and pizza shops) but you can't beat the quality and portions. I lived in Italy for five years and the food and experience at Poppy's are what you would expect at a 5* trattoria in Siena. Delicioso.

Overall this was good. The best part is the portion sizes --really big servings, even for the sides. You'll be full and probably had leftovers. The Caesar salad is good, very classic, fresh romaine. I was so excited to see veal Francese. You so rarely see veal anymore. The veal itself was excellent, very tender and flavorful. Again, three big cutlets. The egg breading is nice and rich. The noodles could be more al dente, but maybe that's from steaming as it was delivered. I will say the sauce could have had more flavor? I think they forgot to put any lemon in it at all. It just tasted like a butter sauce, and even that it could have used more salt. I ended up putting salt and pepper from my plastic cutlery on it. Maybe sending it with some fresh lemons to squeeze yourself would help? The bread is good, again huge. Note that's it's very rich! I think for a butter sauce I would get regular bread next time, but for anything marinara this would be really good. Overall happy because of the big portions and fast service.

The lasagna was equal parts lasagna and marinara which I really appreciated. (A lot of places skimp on the sauce, which is especially disappointing when you want leftovers and the pasta soaks in any sauce most places stingily provide.) I was able to get spoonfuls of equal proportions of pasta, cheese, meat and sauce in every bite both last night and again today for leftovers... and again tomorrow for leftovers again. I have to wonder if they roasted the garlic separately because the sauce was robust with flavor, but the giant slices of garlic I ate tasted and felt like mushrooms (in a good way... I love mushrooms... I mean that the garlic slices were tender and not overpowering in flavor). The sauce was the perfect level of tomato, garlic, herbs and just a touch sweet, but not in the jarred sauce way. I was slightly alarmed at the price point when ordering this entrée at first, BUT it came with two generous portions of Italian bread with garlic infused olive oil and a side salad that actually offers two solid slices of cucumber, a reasonable portion of sliced carrots, a little red onion for flavor and a delcious homemade vinaigrette. All of that for $20ish will make 2+ meals for me, with all of that flavor and goodness. For me, it's a win-win.

Never disappointed in the food from Poppy's ! Everything fresh made in house. Al dente spinach in the cannelloni. The meatballs flavorful and juicy. The garlic bread worth the bad breath. Tried new appetizer pesto bread with mozzarella arugula fresh basil thinly sliced garlic and balsamic vinager Amazing!
