Im going to out myself and admit I was at the restaurant on Tuesday to grab a pickup. I got Chicken Katsu and spent the next day wishing for that same crunch. Welp today I ordered through DoorDash and am extremely happy. This time it was nearly twice the amount of chicken and I got macaroni too. I LOVE the food here and am so happy with a great lunch.

I've been to other L & L's on the west coast so I was excited when you opened. I miss a lot of "local foods". It's difficult to find good grindz so far from home. I have to give you guys a huge shoutout! The Macaroni Salad was perfect! Even the consistency of the rice was like the plate lunches I'm used to. Everything was so "ono"! I'll definitely be ordering again!

I ordered the short rib platter, and it was absolutely outstanding. The ribs were perfectly seasoned—tender, juicy, and grilled just right with that classic smoky sweetness you can only get from Hawaiian barbecue. Each bite had that melt-in-your-mouth texture that tells you the meat was cooked with care and patience.
The rice was fluffy and the perfect balance to the richness of the ribs, while the macaroni salad was creamy, cool, and full of flavor—just like you’d find at a backyard luau. Together, the trio made for a filling, balanced, and truly satisfying meal.
The service was friendly, fast, and attentive. The staff made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in, and the food came out hot and fresh. The restaurant was clean, inviting, and had that relaxed island vibe that makes you forget you’re in Virginia for a moment.

This was hands down one of the best L&L Hawaiian Barbecue experiences I’ve ever had. I ordered the short rib plate with macaroni salad and rice, plus a side of garlic rice, and the combination was absolutely unreal. The flavors were spot on — rich, savory, and perfectly balanced — every bite tasted like comfort food straight from the islands.
Even though it was takeout, the quality and freshness made it feel like I was sitting on a beach in Hawaii enjoying the meal. Portions were generous, everything was cooked to perfection, and the entire experience left me wanting more.
If you’re looking for amazing Hawaiian barbecue, this is definitely a place you need to visit — whether you dine in, grab takeout, or have it delivered. Highly recommended!

Was so happy there's finally an authentic hawaiian place in the dmv! It's not bad but definitely overpriced. Excluding at least 10$ in fees and tips it was 25$ for the plate that provided no teriyaki sauces or plasticware that I requested. The mac salad is bland and I wish the kahlua pork wasn't shredded as much and had more flavor. The chicken was good though. It's nothing compared to Aloha Island Grill in Spokane, WA where you could get a bigger, better, more flavorful plate for less than 15$. If you're ever there make sure to stop by the little run down shack and get the pea salad!!
