Welcome to Oops Sushi
where every dish is a delightful surprise!
Nestled in the heart of Santa Monica, our restaurant offers a unique twist on traditional sushi, blending creativity with the freshest…
I was craving some Sush, so I decided to give this place a go. I loved everything that I ordered: Hama Peño, the Moon Light & the Barrington Roll. All were presented nicely & so organized for just a take out order. Loved the combination of flavors, fresh fish, & sauces. I liked the variety I chose a lot.
The jalaoenos in the Hama Peño were not hot to me (but I usually eat habaneros so maybe it is hot for others). I loved the fresh garlic & fresh cilantro & jalapeño on the yellowtail fish with the ponzu sauce.
I was not in the mood for too much rice, & I love sushi rolled in cucumber, such as in the Moon Light roll,, especially in the summer ... it's so refreshing! There was a lot of fish in the roll & the sauce was also very good.
The Barrington Roll was the only thing I ordered with rice in it. It was very flavorful, with a lot of fun toppings, including some greens & purples (very colorful), & it also came with ponzu. Every bite was slightly different.
The order also came with chopsticks, ginger & wasabi in the side. I was out of sake so I paired everything with a dry rose I had at home, which also went nicely. It's so hot in L.A. right now, & alcohol prevents food poisoning. I almost always have a little bit of wine or sake with sushi. So yes, must pair nicely with the drinks. ;)
There were a lot of delicious sounding menu items, & it was hard to narrow down what I wanted to try first. I would definitely consider ordering again in the future, either the same things or some of the other items I was thinking about.
