Best chips, best flour & corn tortillas & best hot sauce & best Queso!!! There are so many Tex-Mex restaurant good choices but IMHO El Fenix still dominates these most important basics & is the reason they are the oldest restaurant in Dallas.

Nice portions with great taste! Fresh pico, guacamole sour cream with a good portion of that on the side! Most of all the cheese was added on heavy like I like it and melted just right didn't have to ask for it! Superb food as always will definitely order again

Two Chalupas were sloppy, soggy,
And tasteless. Paid extra for chicken and it was barely added on the Two Chalupas.
Bag of chips were fresh, hot sauce was bland.
Fresh Guacamole Half Pint was ok, not seasoned well.
Not the El Fenix were remember.
Wasted money. Didn't eat the Two Chalupas, too watery and gross looking .ingredients slid all over the container off the soggy tortilla.

The ground beef was raw in some parts and only a quarter bag of chips. Also, I chose double rice for my sides, but only got one. The other side of the box was filled with the pico, guac and sour cream, which usually comes in a separate container (see pic).

I ordered Chicken Flautas with ranchera sour cream dipping sauce, very tasty, fresh ingredients. Meal comes with a choice of charro beans which I enjoy. This is absolutely my very favorite Mexican food restaurant.since moving to Texas in 1988.
