The Farm Raised Hainan Chicken with Soup 馳名海南雞飯 was delicious! I especially love the soup that comes with this dish. It's a broth soup but is very tasty and has chunks of meet in it. I was starving and this is a hearty portion with more than enough food for lunch.

The picture shows Chinese dark green leafy vegetables along. The only vegetables that came with this Koi's BBQ Combo Rice Plate 鯉魚門四寶飯 was a few pieces of tasteless limp green cabbage. The chicken was only one chicken wing chopped into three pieces. This is going downhill. It used to be very good but no longer. And the price went up too.

The price went up on this entree and yet the quality has gone down. They have always served this BBQ Pork& Soya Chicken Over Rice 叉燒油雞飯 with Chinese leafy green vegetables. This time it was cabbage and it was just awful. The soya chicken was not breast meat like always, it was mostly bones beneath the skin.

What happened to Koi Palace? Quality was so bad! Abalone congee only had 2 small pieces and then there were 4 pieces of seafood, the rest was congee. Not worth $20. Shrimp churng fun and seafood baked fried rice barely had any seafood, it was mostly noodles and rice. I understand if cost has gone up, but I'd rather pay for the increase in cost to maintain quality, not pay a lot for mostly rice and noodles.

It's been awhile since I've ordered the Hainan Chicken... it is better than before! Chicken was flavorful and moist but they also added a few extra condiments that add to the meal. I like poring the soup over my rice and the ginger/ scallion was perfect. They now add a sweet soy hat pairs well withe hai lab and a sweet/hot sauce. The Chinese lettuce was ok but the Malay sauce was watery from the sauté so not too flavorful. I like their soya chicken and pork but the pork was not tender as usual, I give it 4 stars mostly because of the chicken. They also added hai lab to the bbq pork and soya chicken and I think that's new too.
