Delightful food! Everything was flavourful and the portions generous. The Vegetable Stew aka Vegetable Ishtu (VG) (GF) was a favourite, as it reminded me of a stew my grammie used to make---except with Indian spices! This is the kind of food that will fill both your belly and your heart. Thank you, chef! I will definitely be ordering from here again.

The Chicken Biriyani was magnificent, and the portion ample. The Varutharacha Chicken was delicious, but the pieces of chicken in it were small and insubstantial--certainly not worth $23! The fish curry was tasty, but again, just one relatively modest piece of fish. I will not order takeout from there again. I'll just eat at Cafe Malabar in person, where everything is lovely, generous, and faithful to Kerala hospitality.

I had porotta, appam and veg stew. Appam was ok. But porotta was a disaster. It was worst than the frozen porotta that I get from the Indian store. That too $4 for one porotta, that has no proper layer. The veg stew had lots of onion. I guess they should change the name to onion stew.
I used to order a lots from Cafe Malabar. I guess the quality of food decreased drastically when they changed their location. As person from Kerala itself, it is sad to see a Kerala south Indian restaurant go down the drain.

The food was tasty. I ordered the chicken biryani and the dish was mostly rice with just three small pieces of chicken. The dessert just a small container of milky liquid, not really a dessert.

Lapp a + Alleppey Fish Curry (GF ) was very expensive for the given portion size. Quantity was so less, not worth even half the amount.
