Some of the best Jerk Chicken I've ever had. The cabbage and carrots were perfect. The rice and peas were amazing.
This is my first time trying this place, I'm in love.
I've had Plantains regularly since I was a kid, these were just right. Probably a bit too spicy on the Jerk Chicken for someone not expecting Jerk spice, just right for me to be honest.
*I'm Puerto Rican, I seek out any food from any island, Japan, Hawaii, etc.. This food is among the best I've had in a while.

The flavors were great, although different from anything I've had before. The Jerk BBQ Tofu was a large enough for 2 big meals. I opted for yellow rice and it was unlike any I'd had before. The tofu is fried and then covered in what I would describe as a somewhay sweet, mild jerk bbq sauce. The Plantains were wonderful and perfectly caramelized. The Johnny Cakes were a little heavy/dense, but I drizzled with honey and they had a lovely flavor. My only disappointment was in the size of the Cabbage side. It is cooked perfectly and has just the right amount of garlic, but I thought for the price, the side world be a little larger considering cabbage is pretty cheap.

This place is an absolute treasure in Surprise, Arizona! While Desert Island Eatery isn’t strictly vegan, their vegan menu is to die for—especially the jerk tofu. It’s perfectly seasoned, packed with bold island flavor, and has that irresistible crisp-tender texture that tofu dreams are made of.
And don’t even get me started on the mac and cheese—rich, creamy, and comforting in every bite. It's the kind of meal that makes you forget you're eating plant-based (and then makes you proud that you are).

Food is absolutely amazing. Family owned and you really feel like you're eating a plate of love. As a vegan, the options available are amazing. I highly recommend the Veggie Plate it's very filling !

Fresh food and great flavor. Oxtails was phenomenal Jerk Chicken seasoned excellently. Only complaint would be towards the Plantains, they were over ripe and a more "mushy" than usual; However it maybe personal taste or the batch of the day, so take with a grain of salt.
