Fire food was really good. Super fresh koolaid was a little sweet but overall good restaurant.

i wanna be transparent with this restaurant cause i think all black owned businesses deserve success. also want other customers like me looking for a comfort meal in precarious times to get their monies worth.
the food was handled /packaged well and prepared fresh. a lot of restaurants fail at that. the catfish was fried well, it had a beautiful texture and light pretty color but it was too salty and i had to squeeze some lemon juice on it to finish it. the macaroni was probably the best thing on the plate but it needed just a little more flavor. it could have been a bit more creamy. probably doesnt need anymore seasonings or salt but i recommend a lil greek yogurt or sour cream.
the greens were bitter and overcooked. they could benefit from some meat inside and cooked more fresh to order. greens dont take that long to cook. they should be fresh.
the cake is highlighted as a staple at this restaurant but i didnt find it special at all. its like a bad box mix cake. no great flavor and the texture is uninspiring. this restaurant might as well just do an original plain poundcake. itll go better with the food. its much more simple and it will make customers say yum when they bite into it and come back for more.
i write all this cause times are rough and spending $25 on this plate and almost $50 on the entire doordash, i appreciated the effort, but this meal could have been way better for this price.
