OMG order from this restaurant and experience pure bliss. Shrimp and Grits were seasoned to perfection, the Honey Cornbread Loaf was a mouthwatering, generous portion and the Collard Greens were just right.
A bit expensive, well maybe - but in this case you definitely get what you pay for. This is a locally owned restaurant providing superb, fresh food prepared with love. I'd much rather pay a few dollars more to support this restaurant than one of the many tired chain restaurants in the area that end up costing just as much.
My order was delivered quickly, portions were generous, all items were packaged securely, and everything was warm and ready to eat. Can't wait to try more items on the menu!!

Smothered Pork Chops were huge and well made the gravy was especially good. Chicken was well seasoned and nicely cooked.
$10 for the tiny container of Mac and Cheese was outrageous. It was also not very good.
French Fries were well seasoned and a generous portion.

Everything was just as good as when I get food from home in Louisiana. The gumbo had a Smoked Turkey Gumbo had a rich deep flavor, the String Beans and Sweet Potatoes were slappin, and oh my God the Bread Pudding w/Vanilla Cream Sauce was the perfect cherry on top. 10/10

First timer... LOVED everything! Catfish was amazing... still crispy when it got here... and that sauce- man!!! Porkchops were great... sides were gone in a heartbeat. I never leave reviews.... we will absolutely be coming back! Great job guys!!!!

Next month will mark one year since I discovered Down Home Comfort Cafe in Woodbridge, Virginia, and I can honestly say that finding this place has been one of the best things to happen to me.
I was in town when I first stopped by, and what started as a visit turned into spending the entire day with the staff. From that very first day, I felt something special. These wonderful people are no longer just restaurant staff to me — they are family. ❤️
Now, every month when I fly into town, I make it a priority to spend the entire day with my Down Home Comfort Cafe family. I love the atmosphere, the food, the conversations, and most of all, the people. I even enjoy talking with the customers and recommending different entrées. It feels like I’m coming home every time I walk through those doors.
And let me tell you — the soul food is absolutely incredible! The food is made with love, and you can taste that love in every bite. If you’re looking for delicious, authentic soul food and an atmosphere where you’re treated like family, look no further.
In my opinion, the best soul food cafe is right here in Woodbridge, Virginia — Down Home Comfort Cafe! ❤️🍽️
