Okay, so best chicken with or without bones!!! We have been eating at Hales for about 4years now, since the day after moving to Oak Harbor. We'd been unpacking all day and needed sustenance!! We fortunately chose Hales. The chicken is always so moist! The batter is flavor without "out flavoring" the chicken. All of their dipping sauces are great, but the "Crack" sauce is in a class by itself. We love the FRIED OKRA , it's tender and delicious. The FRIED PICKLES are amazing crispy on the outside and entirely "pickly" on the inside! Their beingets are also so good. Too good!! So order without fear and enjoy with gusto! Everything we have tried is amazing!!!!

5 PIECE COMBO was excellent and was enough food to split between 2 people. The fries were wonderful as well and the crack sauce completes it perfectly. The fried pickles weren't bad but a little salty and fried together. The Strawberry Milkshake was bombbb however for almost $8.00 it would be better in a larger cup instead of a small fast food type cup so it's more worth the price. Definitely would order here again but maybe not the milkshake due to how much you get. Food was very fresh and still hot upon delivery. :)

Get you some chicken with some sweet tea... I waited far too long to order from this place. The chicken was perfect, the sides were great, the sweet tea gave me diabetes just like it's supposed to! This will be the family go too from now on.

Overall the chicken has a good taste (heavy on the salt for my taste). The size of each piece is extremely small so dont expect a large meal. I have enjoyed the sandwiches more than the chicken strips.
Overall, not a bad place but definitely not large portions.

From a fellow Cajun AKA born and raised Louisiana gal with a gluten intolerance (not official allergy advice), I TRULY appreciated the flavor filled shrimp and grits with an ice cold AMAZING sweet tea! I also drooled at the smell of my hubbys fried chicken tenders and can't WAIT for a "naked" chicken option in the future? ;) So although I couldnt have it, the fried chicken is apparently to DIE for! "Best fried chicken for at least 70 miles!"
