Situated in Lakeview's iconic Southport Corridor, Itoko is a neighborhood Japanese and robata restaurant from Gene Kato, Executive Chef of Momotaro. “Itoko” means cousin in Japanese, and refers to the…
Dined in 3x here bc of the amazing drinks, specials, and service, but especially as a pick up order, Itoko also offers great value for supreme quality sushi and several shareable small plates or sides that function as perfect reasonably priced mid-sized meals for one to-go. Beef Chahan* is my most recent favorite. Fast, seamless , and A+++ for a unique but accessible flavor.

I ordered take out and was disappointed.
The "Jewel Jewel Bako “Chirashi Don Style”* came as pictured, all smudged together. Not only the food was all over the box, the meal was missing Nori/seaweed sheets, the sashimi pieces were much smaller than in my previous orders and white fish pieces contained bones!!
Also had Miso: the Abura age/fried tofu and mushrooms were already inside the soup instead of separately like in previous orders. Nigiri Set** - the fish pieces were very thin not worth $36
Miso soup was good, I like the fried tofu.
Dont think ill order here again, too expensive for what you get.

I've dined in person a few times and really loved it, but this takeout was extremely disappointing. Packaged the sushi directly on top of the soup, so the sushi was hot by the time it arrived. The Negi Hamachi* was fishy, and they forgot my Extra Ponzu sauce.

A bit expensive, though it was delicious! The Yama roll cost $22 for five pieces

The hamachi nigiri and roll were so fishy and metalic, I had to spit them out. Tuna was ok, but not good enough to finish the roll. I've never met a piece of sushi that I couldnt eat. Extremely disappointed, especially for the insane price.
