This Baked Crab Roll was the best I've ever had in my life! Add avocado!! And get chipotle mayo and soy sauce :) best combination ever! The quality of the rice and the crab is outstanding. Nobody does baked crab hand rolls better than Koi restaurant. Nobody.

CA handroll very small and very little taste.
Steak bites I asked for medium rare & they were practically raw. Again a small portion for the price and lousy presenta in a little cardboard box with no garnish for a high-end restaurant. Spicy tuna very mushy. I was so disappointed and foun the entire meal highly unsatisfactory.

Wow this is amazing! I will definitely order this Vegan Aka Roll again. Love it! The Grilled Tofu & Vegetables is also amazing but there were not enough vegetables. The tofu was smoked and has the best flavor with dark grill marks - love!!!!

I don't to leave reviews here but I had to this time. I used to eat here over a decade ago because a friend of mine was working there. It was cool but it was kind of obnoxiously sceney/Hollywood and I feel like the food was solid but didnt knock me out. Every time I'm in LA I'm surprised by how many great sushi places there are. It's stiff competition. But man, I ordered from Koi the other day and it was shocking. Excellent detail. Really fantastic sushi all around. The fish was perfect, so fresh, so well cut. The nigiri were immaculate. The rice was that incredible kind of sticky but somehow almost translucent, not too sweet but not too vinegary. Really balanced. I got the shrimp tempura as a side, it was remarkable. A lot of the sushi places in LA all seem to do some version of the rock shrimp tempura but I think this might have been my favorite. The batter was exquisite. The shrimp themselves were perhaps a bit large for my liking but it was awesome. My only "Complaint," would be the Baked Crab Hand wasn't as buttery/flavorful as Katsu-Ya's which I feel is was locally responsible popularizing it. But what you got instead was more of the crab flavor. So not exactly a complaint, just more it wasnt what I'd expected. Regardless, I was floored. All the stars.

I love tamago. This was the best ever. I just wish the order wasn't so small for the price. Five thin pieces. Miso soup excellent, as well.
