• 26-08-19Both the Kare-Kare (Beef Meat in Peanut Stew & Vegetables) and Dinuguan (Savory Pork Stew) were under seasoned, watered down, and the meat chewy. Not on par with the quality from the other locations in South SF and Daly City. I was excited to find it on DoorDash since we don't have enough Filipino offerings in the city, but won't be ordering again.

• 26-05-11This is the most bland food I have ever tasted! Both the Pork Adobo (Soy-Garlic Braised Pork) and the Pork Sisig (Crispy Sizzling Pork) are flavorless. The portion is not as much as the other Filipino restaurant I order at, for the price . I don't know if I would order from here again if they don't event use salt.

• 25-12-18The pork adobo was tasty but the portion was quite small (only 4-6oz) with very little sauce and accompanied only with plain rice. For the price point of $17 more is expected. It's not a good value, especially compared to others.

• 25-08-26The sinigang and garlic rice are good! The soup had fresh veggies- evidenced by the crunch of the green beans. I just wish the meat pieces were a bit bigger, it didn't seem worth it for sinigang in the $30+ range. (I recently ordered kare kare from Fort McKinley and while they give sliced vertebrae [back then I remember restaurants used to give the whole vertebrae] there seemed to be more meat-to-soup ratio. The garlic rice was perfect with sliced garlic pieces.
Max's is a Filipino institution, so definitely DoorDash or eat there if you can. You can't go wrong with any of the food, but if you're a newbie, try their fried chicken and pork sisig first.
