Great Chicken, Terrible Salad, and $16 Worth of Disappointment!
This is inconsistent (see my previous post)
PDQ usually delivers on flavor, and this order was no exception when it came to the chicken tenders. Both three-piece tender boxes arrived warm, fresh, and delicious. The half-gallon of sweet tea was excellent as well.
Unfortunately, the packaging looked rushed. The fries were smashed against the chicken, the cookies were crushed, and the overall presentation lacked care.
But the biggest disappointment was the nearly $16 PDQ Salad.
The menu promises mixed greens, red cabbage, carrots, shredded cheese, grape tomatoes, cucumbers, and chicken. What I received was essentially a giant bowl of iceberg lettuce with chicken on top.
No carrots. Barely any cabbage. Cheese melted onto the warm chicken. And the vegetables? ONE tiny grape tomato cut into four pieces and about four ridiculously thin cucumber slices.
I’m not exaggerating. One tomato. Cut into quarters. Apparently, that’s how we get “tomatoes” in the plural!
For $16, I expected an actual salad, not a head of lettuce with a few vegetables used as decoration. Especially when ordering a healthier option, the portions should be substantial enough to justify the price.
The chicken was great, the tea was great, and the food arrived warm. But the salad was an absolute disappointment, and the careless packaging didn’t help.
Two stars. PDQ can clearly make delicious chicken, but charging $16 for what amounts to lettuce and a chicken tender is ridiculous. With prices where they are today, customers deserve better value and a little more care in preparing their orders.
