San Diego’s historic restaurant located in the heart of Hillcrest.
This is definitely the best Chinese food restaurant in the neighborhood, possibly the best Thai food restaurant unless you want very specific region Thai, and absolutely the best Door Dash restaurant.
I spend months of the year in SE Asia and literally everything I've had there has been great. It is extremely *clean, fresh, well prepared and seasoned, and cooked properly*. Every time.
They are fast! They allow you to select proteins, make substitutions, add comments or requests, select all the cutlery you need with many types of sauces available, and they get it right, also every time. They are open late! Still cooked fresh for you.
If you are not used to authentic Thai food it may look bland to you. Let me assure you it is not. The chilis used are much hotter than ones you see in America so less is used. This makes it mouth hot, but not stomach hot. The 5 will make your nose run and maybe flush your face out but if you want spicey for a Thai person you should tell them and they can do it. The 3 is hot enough for flavor id put it at raw jalapeño level.

Always love the GARLIC EDAMAME from here, I get a 4 or 5 spice level and the flavor is still very powerful and not overwhelmed by spice. I am however very used to spicy. The RED CURRY is also very delicious. This place is great and very consistent

I have been ordering DoorDash from Asian Bistro for years and good reason… their food quality is ALWAYS consistent and has the best flavor. So good that I’ll be at a bar 1:30am and order before I leave so it’s waiting for me when I get home
I highly recommend the Mother Chili wings pictured here. 10/10 always along with the BBQ chicken which is my other fav

This place is overall fantastic! I am rarely disappointed. Tonight was different. They did not include a boba straw for my boba. SALT & PEPPER crispy shrimp came with like 10 to 12 small shrimp and a sauce was included in the tray. It was less than half full and it was supposed to be an entree. Good thing we got 2 big soups. The picture of the salt and pepper entree had a full tray but that's not how it came. wish I got a picture now. It cost over $20 so I was expecting a full tray. It was also a bit soggy because of the condensation but the flavor was good. Otherwise this place always has amazing food. It's my go to for local Asian food. But I wouldn't get that particular entree again. The tom kha is always amazing, so is the shrimp SM WONTON soup, I get it frequently! SICKY SWEET RICE W MANGO is bomb every time. EMERALD ICED TEA is my favorite drink there, not too sweet with a complex flavor because of the tea they use. Love it!

Pad see ew was still hot, fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced. The gyoza was also delicious and crispy. The sauce paired really well with it. Portion size was good. Overall great late night takeout!
