• 25-06-07I had the BBQ beef BBQ Beef Sandwich and paid an up charge for onion rings. the sandwich was good. the sauce was sweet with just a little kick. only 4 stars because the portion of onion rings received was so small. my husband had the pulled pork sandwich, which he liked, but the amount of fries he got were also small.

• 23-11-03I recently ordered the 12oz Prime Rib from Timbers Restaurant in Goleta via DoorDash, and it was an absolute culinary delight! The meat was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, with the Yorkshire pudding and creamy horseradish adding just the right touch of elegance and flavor. The delivery was prompt, and the food arrived hot and beautifully packaged. The portion size was generous, providing great value for the price. Timbers' commitment to quality ingredients and expert preparation shines through in every bite. I can’t wait to order from them again and explore more of their delicious menu!

Three times I've ordered the Timber's Burger. This last time I added "Fresh Baked Pie". In a hamburger the meat should be the star. Not so here. All three times I've ordered the meat has been a greasy, unseasoned, tasteless mess. A burger should have tomato for some acid and sweetness, onion for umami and lettuce for a subtle herbal taste. Here the tasteless meat is profiled against a mouthful of powerfully herbal, peppery arugula. Inappropriate for a hamburger - it completely masked what little flavor the meat had. There was no tomato or onion. The hamburger sauce? Mayo - that's it. Just mayo. The "Fresh Baked Pie"? What fresh baked pie? For almost $10.00 I received a slice of vending machine quality apple pie. The cloyingly sweet apple pie filling was a gloopy mess with chopped apple bits spiced with the absolutely cheapest low grade cinnamon available. The sugar came through but the apple and cinnamon flavors were virtually absent. The crust was the typical cookie dough crust found on the pies in the aforemention vending machines. The chef may have put "Fresh Baked Pie" on the menu but the chef did not make this pie. Maybe Sara Lee made it but not the Timber's chef. After two bites the pie went into the garbage.
The Timber's, regardless of the current permutation, has always been a tough venue. The building sits at the far edge of Goleta wedged between a gas station, mobile home park and US 101. It gets no drive-by trade. People have to know that it's there and know how to get there either on US 101 or through the winding surface roads. Over the past 30 years even small mistakes have cost every prior owner of the venue the entire business. No one who has taken over the venue has lasted more than two years. I gave the current owner three chances to get it right. They failed. I won't be back.

• 25-08-29Pretty disappointed. Bread was rock hard and chicken and bread looked/felt/tasted like it was reheated in a microwave. Cheese on the chicken was completely dried out. Spaghetti was subpar. Unfortunately this will be my first and last time ordering from here.
